Visit to Dumping Site Alawathugoda In the morning at around 10.00 am Mr. Tuan and Mr. Janan went on a field survey on waste disposal near Akurana town and Alawathugoda. They Have taken pictures from the waste disposal site of Alawathugoda and areas near and how the waste disposal management being done by the Alawathugoda Pradeshiya Sabawa, also they have spoken to the workers on the site. We spoke to a man who’s working there for an extended period as a permanent employee Mr. Subramaniyam. He said that every day except Poya days and some days, they are receiving 3 garbage trucks to the center per day. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, they collect only plastics and cardboard.
